Scroll reveal animation (pure CSS): what it is for
Sections that appear as the visitor scrolls make a page feel alive. This generator creates the effect with CSS only, using scroll-driven animations (animation-timeline: view()), without libraries like AOS or ScrollReveal.
Pick the effect (slide up, fade in, slide in from the sides, grow or unblur), the distance and at what point of entering the screen the animation ends, then scroll the preview. The code sits inside an @supports block, so in Firefox, which still keeps the feature behind an experimental flag, elements show up normally instead of staying invisible, and it respects people who asked for less motion.
How to use
- Pick the effect and the distance.
- Set where the animation ends.
- Copy the CSS and add the class to your sections.
When to use it
- Landing pages.
- Services and testimonial sections.
- Portfolios.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work in every browser?
Scroll-driven animations (animation-timeline) work in Chrome, Edge and Safari 26 or newer. In Firefox they are still behind an experimental flag. That is why the code sits inside an @supports block: where the feature does not exist, elements simply show up normally instead of staying invisible.
Why not use a library like AOS or ScrollReveal?
Those libraries use JavaScript to watch the scroll, which adds weight to the page and can stutter on slow phones. With animation-timeline the browser itself runs the animation, so the site stays lighter.
What about people who prefer less motion?
The code respects prefers-reduced-motion: for anyone who turned that option on, elements appear without sliding or growing.
