Online teleprompter: what it is for

The teleprompter scrolls your script by itself on the screen, in large letters on a black background, so you can read while looking at the camera when recording videos, classes, livestreams and presentations.

You can adjust the speed and the font size, turn on the guide line, the 3-second countdown and mirror mode for teleprompter glass, go full screen and pause with a tap. The tool also estimates the reading time from the number of words.

How to use

  1. Paste the script in the text box.
  2. Adjust the speed and the font size.
  3. Press start, go full screen and tap the text to pause.

When to use it

  • Recording videos for YouTube, Reels and TikTok.
  • Online classes and presentations.
  • Livestreams and recordings with teleprompter glass.

Frequently asked questions

How do I use the teleprompter on a phone?

Paste the script, press start and go full screen. Place the phone right below or above the camera that is recording, so your eyes stay close to the lens. Tap the text to pause and resume.

What is mirror mode for?

For use with teleprompter glass (a beam splitter): the text appears flipped on the screen and the glass reflects it the right way around, in front of the lens.

Are there keyboard shortcuts?

Yes: space pauses and resumes, the up and down arrows change the speed, the left and right arrows go back or forward a little, and Home goes back to the start.

How long will the reading take?

The tool estimates the time from the word count, assuming about 140 words per minute, the usual speaking pace in videos.

Is it really free?

Yes, 100% free. No sign-up, no subscription and no usage limits. All Tools123 tools are free and run right in your browser.
