Frequently asked questions
How does planning poker work?
The team reads a story, each person secretly picks the card with their estimate and everyone shows it at the same time. If the numbers are far apart, whoever gave the highest and the lowest explains why and the team votes again, until it gets close to a consensus.
Why do the deck numbers jump (1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13)?
Because the bigger the task, the bigger the uncertainty: there is no point arguing whether it is 14 or 15. The Fibonacci sequence forces a choice between clearly different sizes. The ? means information is missing and the coffee cup means the team needs a break.
Can I use it in a video meeting?
Yes. Each person opens this page on their phone, picks a card and, when the facilitator asks, taps Flip and shows the screen to the camera or says the number. Then the facilitator types the votes in the field below to see the average, the median and the closest card.
Is it really free?
