Tournament bracket generator (knockout): what it is for
Paste up to 64 team or player names and the tool builds the elimination bracket. When the number is not a power of 2, the bracket is filled with byes, each in a different match, and whoever gets a bye goes straight to the next round.
Matchups can be drawn at random or follow the list order. Tap the winner of each match to advance them; changing a result clears the rounds that depended on it. At the end the champion appears.
How to use
- Paste the names, one per line.

- Tap the winner of each match until you reach the champion and print if you want.

- Competitions at school or work.
Frequently asked questions
What if the number of teams is not 4, 8, 16 or 32?
The bracket is filled up to the next power of 2 with byes: some teams go straight through the first round. The byes are spread out so two never fall in the same match.
Are the matchups drawn at random?
If the shuffle option is ticked, yes, with the browser's random generator. Unticked, the bracket follows the list order: 1st plays 2nd, 3rd plays 4th and so on, which works for brackets with seeds already set.
Can I undo a result?
Yes. Tap the other team in the match to change the winner; the later rounds that depended on it are cleared.
How do I print or share it?
Use the print button. The bracket fits on one page, with the champion at the end.
Is it really free?
Yes, 100% free. No sign-up, no subscription and no usage limits. All Tools123 tools are free and run right in your browser.
