Frequently asked questions
How big is a cup?
Here a cup is 240 ml (the US legal cup; the US customary cup is 236.6 ml). A tablespoon is 15 ml and a teaspoon is 5 ml. The “small glass” is the 190 ml Brazilian glass used in many recipes from Brazil.
Why does the weight change from one ingredient to another?
Because each ingredient has a different density: a cup of flour weighs about 120 g and a cup of sugar about 180 g. The values are averages and vary with how you fill the cup.
