How many diapers of each size
Diaper calculator: what it is for
The calculator estimates how many diapers a baby uses in each size in the first year, from average changes per day and time at each stage, and splits the baby shower packs among the sizes in the same proportion as use.
You enter the number of guests and packs per guest and can adjust how many diapers come in each pack, by brand. The tool also shows how much of the first year the shower covers.

Frequently asked questions
How many diapers does a baby use in the first year?
Between 2,000 and 2,500, according to average use. Newborns are changed 8 to 10 times a day; over time it drops to 5 or 6 changes a day.
Why ask for few newborn diapers?
Babies usually wear the newborn size only for the first few weeks, and some are born too big for it. That's why it's more common to ask for larger sizes, which are used for longer.
Are the months for each size exact?
No. The size depends on the baby's weight, and weight ranges change from brand to brand. The calculator uses averages; adjust the count per pack to the brand you like. Sizes here follow Brazilian labels: RN (newborn), P (small), M (medium), G (large) and XG (extra large).
