Social share buttons for websites: what it is for
Share buttons help content spread, but the official buttons from social networks load third-party scripts that slow the site down and track visitors.
This generator uses each network's own share links (wa.me, the Facebook sharer, the X intent, LinkedIn share-offsite, Telegram t.me/share, Pinterest and mailto) and the phone's native Share button through the Web Share API, which opens every installed app. It includes copy link, three styles and the page URL read on the spot, so the same code works across the whole site.
How to use
- Tick the networks and the native button.
- Choose the style and shape.
- Copy and paste where you want the buttons.
When to use it
- Blog posts.
- Product pages.
- Recipes, news and events.
Frequently asked questions
Why not use the official buttons from each network?
Official buttons load scripts from the social networks, which slow the page down and track visitors, which also matters for your cookie notice. Plain links open the same share screen without any of that.
What is the phone's Share button?
It is the Web Share API: on phones it opens the system's own share menu, with every installed app (WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, messages). It only appears in browsers that support it; in the others, the network buttons remain.
Which URL gets shared?
By default, the URL of the page the button is on, read by the script on the spot, so the same code works on every page. If you prefer, set a fixed URL and text.
