Online chess clock: what it is for
The chess clock has two timers, one for each player: after your move, you tap your side and your opponent's time starts running. The top side is upside down, so the device can sit in the middle of the table.
There are preset bullet, blitz, rapid and classical time controls, with or without increment, and custom mode allows different times for each side. It shows the number of moves, pauses, restarts, goes full screen and alerts you when time runs out.

Frequently asked questions
How do I use a chess clock?
The player with the black pieces taps the clock to start White's time. After each move, the player taps their own side, their time stops and the opponent's starts running. Whoever runs out of time loses.
What is the increment?
It is the time added to the clock for each move made, in the Fischer system. In 3+2, each player starts with 3 minutes and gains 2 seconds per move.
Which time controls are preset?
Bullet (1+0 and 2+1), blitz (3+0, 3+2 and 5+0), rapid (10+0, 10+5 and 15+10) and classical (30+0). You can also set a different time for each player, to give the stronger one a handicap.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Yes: on a computer, the space bar passes the turn, and P pauses.
Is it really free?
