Google reviews badge for your website: what it is for

Show the rating your business has on Google on your website: type the rating and number of reviews from your Google Business Profile, paste the reviews link and choose between a card, a pill or a floating badge in the corner of the page, in a light or dark theme. The stars are filled in the exact proportion of the rating.

The badge is static HTML and CSS, with no third-party script, no API key and no monthly fee, so it does not slow down your site; update the numbers from time to time. It has no review markup for Google, because Google does not show stars for reviews a business publishes about itself.

How to use

  1. Type the rating and the number of reviews.
  2. Paste the reviews link and choose the style.
  3. Copy the code into your site.

When to use it

  • Home page of a local business.
  • Footer of a services website.
  • Quote request page.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I get the rating and the number of reviews?

From your Google Business Profile: search for your business name on Google or Maps and see the rating (such as 4.8) and the total number of reviews next to the stars. Use the real numbers and update the badge from time to time.

Does the badge update by itself?

No. It is static HTML, which is why it is light and does not depend on any paid service. When the rating or total changes, generate the badge again. Widgets that update by themselves use the Google API, which requires a key and may cost money.

Can I use star markup so Google shows stars in the results?

Not for reviews of your own business on your own site. Google does not show review stars for LocalBusiness and Organization when the business publishes reviews about itself (so-called self-serving reviews). That is why the badge has no review structured data.

Is it really free?
