Frequently asked questions
How deep should mulch be?
2 to 3 inches is the usual recommendation for garden beds. Thinner layers let weeds through; much thicker layers can keep water and air from the roots.
How many bags are in a cubic yard?
A cubic yard is 27 cubic feet: about 13.5 bags of 2 cubic feet or 9 bags of 3 cubic feet.
Is it cheaper to buy in bulk?
For more than 2 or 3 cubic yards, bulk delivery from a landscape supplier is usually cheaper than bags, even with the delivery fee.
