Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate plants per hectare?
Divide 10,000 m² by the area each plant takes up, which is the row spacing times the plant spacing. At 3 × 2 m, each plant takes 6 m² and about 1,667 plants fit per hectare.
What is triangular or quincunx planting?
Plants in one row are staggered with those in the next row, forming triangles. With the same distance between plants, this layout fits about 15% more plants than a square grid.
Should I buy extra plants?
Yes. It's common to buy 5% to 10% extra to replace the ones that don't take.
Is it really free?
